Karen
Yatuzis - Leader
Accordion, Keyboards and Vocals
Karen’s Austrian family and heritage surrounded her with
the music, language, and culture of the Alps. She has a
Bachelors of Music from Ithaca Conservatory of Music and
a Master’s Degree from Middle Tennessee State
University. She has appeared as a violist under the batons of
Arthur Fiedler, Igor Stravinsky, Leonard and Elmer
Bernstein. She has sung in Carnegie Hall with the Ithaca
College Chorale. As an accordionist, she's appeared with
the Nashville Symphony in addition to countless
festivals internationally. Karen’s polka career
began when she started playing with Fritz’s German Band
in Nashville. Karen adds many sounds to the ensemble by
performing on accordion, keyboards, vocals, and is
renown for her yodeling.
G.R. Davis
Tuba/Helicon
G.R. is a well known bass player and low brass
specialist in the Nashville area and an adjunct
professor of brass at Vanderbilt’s Blair School of
Music.
GR is known for his "flights of fancy" on "solo tuba"
and adds the OOMPH to the Omp-pa band!
Sonny Lonas
Drums
Sonny has been a popular session drummer in the
Nashville area and has performed and recorded with many
artists including Ernest Tubb, Patsy Cline, Jimmy Dean,
and the Musik Meisters.
Marty Breger
Reeds
Marty is a classically trained instrumentalist, but is
versatile in many diverse genres. Marty is known for his
jokes and keeps us laughing. Marty has performed
with the Chicago Symphony, many “Swing Bands,” and
contributes soprano sax, tenor sax, and clarinet, to the
sound of the Musik Meisters.
Brad Stauffer
Brass
Brad Stauffer, originally from Ohio, is a well known
trumpet player in Nashville. Brad adds a bright sound to
the Musik Meisters by performing trumpet, Alphorn, and
almglocken (tuned cow bells).
